In truth, restorative yoga is simply that – Strengthening, Restoring. Breath and body become centered.
A restorative yoga sequence typically comprises only five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest without any stress on the connective tissue. We keep the asanas for 5 minutes or more, usually with relaxing music, occasionally associated with a meditative practice. Restores poses include light twists sitting forward bends and gentle back bends. Most restorative practices are based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar.
